Ok, thoughts about what I would love to see from 'Gotham'

Well I've now watched the trailer for Gotham about 20 times today and have some thoughts about what I would love to see in the show.
First I want to say, yes I know this is being sold to us as a "Police Show" but set in a fictional world that was born in the pages of the Batman Comics. I however think that if this show is going to last it has to embrace that fictional world and show us things we've never seen from live action adaptations of the Batman mythos.
Ok on to some random and messy thoughts about what I'd love to see in the show.

Bad Ass Alfred: I really want to see the amazing mix of a man Alfred must be. So much of this origin tale always focuses on Bruce, but the Waynes death was as much an origin of sorts for who Alfred would become. Yes Bruce has lost his parents but Alfred has lost very dear friends and suddenly has to raise and protect a very special child. I would love to see how he can become the support for a man like Batman and how many times he saved him before Batman started saving him. I hope the go with the version where Alfred has a strong Military back ground. This version seems to hang on the Waynes murder not as a random event and if there are folks out there wanted to finish the family off, I hope we get to see the lengths Alfred will go to in order to protect Bruce.

Genius and Dark young Batman: Notice I didn't say young Bruce Wayne. That person dies right when Martha and Thomas die. Thing is it's not just the death of his parents and tons of money that Batman is made of. Bruce Wayne had talents and gifts that allowed that to be possible. Bruce was born a genius, arguably one of the smartest minds ever with amazing genetics that would allow him to become a world class athlete. Who knows what might have happened to Bruce had his parents lived, mostly likely becoming a world class doctor and inventor, heck who knows had he grown up Bruce might have saved more people than Batman ever will, inventing some world class drug or something. One more thing, that was I believe in Bruce that allowed him to become Batman, something in the back, something dark. It would probably have never been noticed had Bruce grown up happy, but that night it broke out of what ever kept it in check. Bruce Wayne ceases to exist and something else takes over, he hasn't named it yet, but Bruce knows it's what he is now.
One thing I love about this trailer is the moment with Bruce kneeling with his parents, that scene is usually sad, but in this trailer it seems almost rage fueled.
I want to see that, young bruce trying to figure out what he is now, think about it: Batman is an idea only a child would come up with. I want to see "Bruce" figuring that out or trying to figure it out. I also want us to see "Bruce's" detective mind forming. I see this as Gordon having chats from time to time with "Bruce" were he talks briefly about a case and "Bruce" (being a freaking genius) is able to point Gordon in the right direction. After a while this would become a driving force in the show as Gordon often seeks out "Bruce" for help.

Also, as this 1st episode starts with them meeting, for the last episode (10 years from now) I want the final scene to be a rooftop meeting, Gordon has just become Commissioner and Batman is there in costume for the 1st time. Talk ends with: Gordon "I'm Commissioner Gordon" holds out hand "And you are?" Batman turns to jump off building, and right before says "Don't you read the paper? I'm the Batman"

Yep.
