Wow, what a world. So we all learned yesterday that Oscar winner Ben Affleck is signed on to be Batman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film (and presumably the following Justice League movie).
My though is 'Why?' and that's not a 'Why would WB/DC pick him?' no that's a 'Why would he do it?'. I just cannot figure out why an Award winning director wants to take is cues from the guy that made Sucker Punch working with a script by the guy who wrote Blade 3.
(Sorry not trying to knock ether gentlemen as I have enjoyed some of each's work)
Affleck has already played a Super-Hero and spoke very openly about hating that he had done so.
He said: “By playing a superhero…. I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero.” He said that wearing a superhero costume “was a source of humiliation,” and that he wouldn’t want to do it again soon.
I can only think that WB must have offered him: A- a HUGE pament and B-Some deal to get to make a film or two that he really wants to do that they would never have green lighted other wise.
As for him as Batman, no I think it's a poor choice, He's to "Typical Leading Man" already folks are comparing him to George Clooney and we all know how his BatMovie turned out, yikes.
Batman is my favorite Super-Hero. I think this is bad news. that's all for now.
