I'm happy that "The Lone Ranger" is bombing.

So it seems that The Lone Ranger is a box office bomb (as well as being very poorly reviewed) I have not seen it, nor will I ever pay to see it. I am happy to hear of it's demise, and I hope that with it (and with the failing of John Carter before it) there is a tiny glimmer of hope that Hollywood will learn not to grab random stories from pop/sci-fi culture, rip the very hearts out of them, and then spend millions on advertisements hoping they'll get a blockbuster out of it.

Both Lone Ranger and John Carter are things I should have been doing backflips to see on the modern big-screen, but you have to have people making them that understand and love them.

I hope, hope Hollywood learns from this.... but then again they still have to ruin T.M.N.T for us, so there's that.
