Wow Time for a recap - Filmography 2012

What a fun video, sure makes it seem like 2012 was a Great year for Movies.

So I guess I will recap some of my thoughts on films from this last year.
In no particular order or logic set-up. Here we go:

Safety Not Guaranteed
This is one I hope most of you watched. Such a fun/sweet/sad rather small movie. I really enjoyed this and cannot wait till I feel it has been long enough for me to watch it again. I fully recommend.

Moonrise Kingdom
Wow this movie was perfect. This is right up there with Tenenbaums and Rushmore to me (and no I won't choose a favorite) I loved this movie, I haven't re-watched it yet, but I own it. I KNOW this is one I am going to watch many times over for many years to come.

Beasts of the Southern Wild
This one was odd for me. It wasn't the movie I expected going into it. It is however a magical, yet harsh movie. The lead girl in this certainly earned the many praises she has gotten for this role. This one was somehow bigger and smaller than I expected. This is worth a watch (or maybe two). Do not expect a "feel good" movie. Right after saying that, I will say it does make me feel good about people. weird.

The Dark Knight Rises
Biggest disappoint I have ever felt from a movie. This is a (BEAUTIFULLY shot) monster of a Bad, bad "Batman" movie. terrible. I cannot easily remember a movie that felt as though the cast hated what they were doing more than this.

Life of Pi
Oh Ang Lee, why must you destroy good books? Nice looking. Rather boring. Changes the book to make it "happier and easier" in typical hollywood fashion.

Looper
The parts of one of the best Sci-Fi action movies ever are in this, sadly some one came along and added a bunch of crap and then stirred it all together. Worth a watch to fans of the genre but man last 3rd of the movie was junk.

Lawless
Yep, I need to own this. I kinda want to watch it right now. Kinda disjointed but overall very good. Didn't fare to well at the box office, I can see this film getting sort of a cult following.

The Avengers
Can you say: FUN!!!!!!!!!!! Yes Flaws, Yes Silly, Yes Corny!! FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN! See this now.

Prometheus
Damn big swing and a mis here folks. I really don't understand how this was so bad, like wacky bad. This is like a BIG budget film that could easily be amazing fodder for MST300. Actually yea I want to see that.

Sinister
Great scary movie. Really like this. Sure it has ending issues (but what horror movie doesn't?). This one was in my head for days after viewing it. Fans of scary should see it. I also wish more Horror films coming out these days would have this same slow/quite/creepy tone.
